The Appleton and Eaton Gardening Club
We have decided to cancel the Village Show this year due to the coronavirus. We have been working up to now in the hope that we would be able to hold the show but have come to the conclusion that it won't be possible.
We are still looking to see if there is a way we can hold our lecture series which is due to start on 14th October.
This Club was formed many years ago and is probably one of the oldest organisations in the village. If you are interested in growing flowering plants and/or vegetables, in a large space or a small back yard, membership of the Club will enhance your gardening knowledge and provide a social outlet to make new friends. You will also have access to a fund of expertise and inspiration through our regular winter lecture series and through informal contacts with other members.
Each Spring we run a fund-raising plant sale, and in September we organise the Appleton Village Show, a major event of the Appleton calendar and a chance for our members – and other residents – to show off their horticultural (and other) skills. The Show Schedule is available from the Appleton Community Shop in the weeks leading up to the event. We also have a deal with a major supplier (Suttons) for discounted seeds, plants and other horticultural items. The annual subscription to the Club is just £5. Garden Club members have free admission to our meetings, and can join in our other activities.
Why not join us? For further details, contact one of the Committee Officers listed below. Alternatively, just come along to our next meeting, where you will be most welcome.
