Your children’s youth club needs you!

OX13 – Appleton’s youth club is a village institution, an important part of the lives of countless young Appletonians over the last 17 years. But currently it’s not operating – after 17 years the original group of volunteers have stood down and are still looking for a new set of volunteers to take it over. We’re half way there – a couple of people have already come forward to help out – we just need someone with the enthusiasm to coordinate, plan, and do the odd bit of paperwork.

For those who may not know much about it:

Youth club gives our young people their first taste of teenage socialising. 

It’s so great that year 11s are desperate to be old enough to come to youth club, whilst older youth have great memories of their time at OX13. And it integrates our young people into village life.

It really is a special part of growing up in Appleton, and it ought to continue.

You don’t need to have teenage children of your own. Perhaps there’s a group of parents of primary age children who would like to take over to ensure there’s a club for their own kids in years to come. Perhaps your own children have enjoyed youth club and you’d like to see it continue for others.
